23rd March sees my work for sale in a new gallery above the Duck Restaurant by the canoe lake in Ryde.  this enterprise is led by Kelly and Dee Murdoch, of Ztam Design and Print and they are gathering an eclectic mix of artists, makers and photographers selling their work in this large, airy space above the restaurant. To date there are over 70 artists and makers taking space there, and I am very pleased to be part of it.

My usual mix of cards, coasters and gold leaf work will be on sale, as well as these gold enhanced coconut shells which make lovely holders for little things.

And 24th - 30th April at Quarr Abbey sees an exhibition with Nicola Callaghan (Peggy Pebbles) - working title Ocean.  I look forward to being part of this exhibition and seeing you there.  Quarr Abbey has free parking, an excellent restaurant/cafe and a shop that sells a wide range of local produce.

Introduction

I create fresh, vibrant images that capture the essence of my subjects, from portraits and landscapes to still life and abstracts.

My Work

Whether you're looking for a simple portrait or need help with a larger project, I would love to work with you. Based on the Isle of Wight a few miles off the south coast of England, my work reflects my surroundings, with sea, landscape, animals and architecture all influencing my work.

Feel free to look through my portfolio on the gallery pages which show some examples of my work.  I can supply pictures mounted or framed.  The prices quoted are for mounted pictures and the mounts shown are samples. You can choose the colour of mount you prefer. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Approach

I approach my work with a unique perspective that takes into account your needs and your individual style. My style and technique are broad and flexible, developed over years of practice and painting.

From a painting of your wedding venue, to a portrait of your favourite pet, I try to capture the essence of the subject, to give you a lasting memory.

My lens seems to lead me to paint with a smiling eye, that comes out in the animal pictures and highlights the quirky, the funny, the off-key.

And of course the gold leaf....it seems to turn up in the most unexpected places!
